2024 GSK IMPACT Awards: Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service

Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service supports the recovery of survivors of domestic abuse across east Kent.

'Rising Sun is a highly respected local charity doing brilliant work helping survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives. We were hugely impressed by its mix of trauma-informed one-to-one and group services, working directly with the survivors on their journey of recovery. Rising Sun is leading the way for domestic violence services in Kent having set up the first domestic violence support services in Kent for people attending A&E and for survivors’ dependent on alcohol and drugs, as well as running specialist services for young women and for children who have survived domestic violence. Its reach into the local community allows it to engage with some very vulnerable people and give survivors a voice in domestic violence services across Kent.'
