The Clinical Directors and Lead Clinicians leadership programme will equip you with the skills you need to lead your team strategically and operationally, across disciplines and through periods of transition.  

Aimed at people working as clinical directors or lead clinicians, or aspiring to these roles in the near future, this leadership course will help you balance tensions between your different responsibilities. You’ll be invited to consider the impact of the external environment on your day-to-day work, with a focus on policy and the current economic context. You will also have time to go through real work issues with our team of consultants and your peers. 

The eight-day leadership programme takes place over three months at our central London office.

What will I learn on the Clinical Directors and Lead Clinicians leadership programme?

At the core of the programme is learning how to balance the different demands on your time when you’re in a leadership position, whether those demands are strategic, operational or day-to-day clinical responsibilities.

You’ll have the opportunity to think about inter-personal relationships, how to influence your leaders, manage peers and work in multidisciplinary teams. You will also consider diversity and difference and how to take an inclusive approach to your leadership style and clinical responsibilities. 

Along with your peers you’ll examine the wider context of health policy, the country’s economic situation and the impact this has on the health care system. You’ll leave the course equipped with the skills to lead your team through complex transitions and negotiate an ever-changing health and care system.
