Are you leading a place-based partnership, a neighbourhood team, a provider collaborative or a new model of care drawing together a range of different professional groups? Our programme is designed specifically for you.

* David Crampsey is now CEO at the Royal Free in London.

Why join us?

Health and care organisations are increasingly working together to combine their skills and resources to deliver more co-ordinated care for their local populations. This way of working is not easy, and to thrive in this challenging and turbulent context requires leaders to work effectively across organisational and professional boundaries with an adaptive and collaborative mindset.

Leaders will also be required to consider their roles as leaders of place, convenors and partners. In practice, this means working through relationships, modelling collaboration with other organisations and working differently with local communities. This programme will provide space for leaders to work with their current context and design leadership interventions that will shift power dynamics, surface conflict and be more future oriented.

Being open to the different knowledge, skills and resources that lie within other organisations, teams and communities will require leaders to empower others to participate fully. Building a culture of mutual support, clarity of purpose and holding more effective conversations are just some of the skills leaders need. This programme will enable leaders to develop their collaborative skills, and collectively problem solve with a group of peers drawn from across the UK.

What we offer

Our programme brings together a maximum of 16 leaders from a variety of health and care organisations to work together ‘as a system’ on real-life leadership challenges. Course directors will share a variety of different models and frameworks to build understanding and inform the design of different leadership interventions. Inclusive spaces will also be created to test out new ideas and to look at leadership challenges from different angles. External speakers will contribute to the programme, including leaders with experience of working beyond their own organisational or professional boundary.

What will you learn?

Our course is designed to equip leaders with the knowledge to enhance their leadership role in leading new care models, provider collaboratives in place-based partnerships and neighbourhood working. We pay specific attention to the different local contexts each participant is grappling with and design the programme to work with many of their day-to-day leadership challenges.
