Response to the Health and Social Care Committee inquiry into the Integration and Innovation White Paper

This content relates to the following topics:

The House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee has launched an inquiry into the government’s 2021 White Paper proposals to reform health and care (Integration and Innovation: working together to improve health and social care for all).

In our written submission to the inquiry, we respond to the proposals to enable more integrated working across health and care, reduce bureaucracy, and enhance the Secretary of State’s powers and accountability. We also consider some of the cross-cutting issues raised by the planned reforms, including the timing of the legislation, the reduction in Parliamentary oversight, and the lack of reform proposals for other areas such as adult social care and public health. Read the written submission.
