Health and education are closely linked – poor health impacts on children's educational attainment, and vice versa.

This paper sets out to explore opportunities to create stronger and more consistent partnerships between health and education, both in terms of the challenges facing schools and the issues surrounding local strategies that link the two sectors.

It also seeks to identify some of the ways that these improved partnerships can reduce health inequalities between children.

Bringing together the perspectives of key education and public health stakeholders, and children and young people, it highlights learning from good practice and identifies ways forward.
