Update 01 June 2026

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all future cohorts of Activate. As part of a wider review of how we support leaders to address racism in health and care, we believe a more integrated, portfolio-wide approach will be more effective in reaching and supporting a broader range of people.

We have already begun embedding anti-racism across our wider leadership portfolio and will continue to build on this work, with further developments as we evolve our offer over the coming year.

We recognise that this news will be disappointing. Racism remains a significant issue affecting the health and wellbeing of both staff and patients, with the most recent NHS staff survey highlighting that it continues to be deeply entrenched. The King’s Fund remains firmly committed to this work and will continue to prioritise it through our research, leadership and organisational development, and events.

Our partnership with brap remains a key part of this commitment and will continue to shape and inform our approach.

We are very grateful for your interest and our Activate Alumni. Your commitment and willingness to thoughtfully engage with the programme is genuinely appreciated.

Alternative options

In terms of alternative opportunities, we offer an online anti-racism module through ShiftWorks, our online learning platform. You may also be interested in the Anti-Racist Bootcamp being run by brap in July.
