General practice in London: supporting improvements in quality

Authors

General practice in London faces a number of demographic and socio-economic challenges in addition to the unprecedented financial pressures facing the NHS as a whole.

NHS London commissioned an independent report to provide a fresh analysis of those challenges and the improvements that will be needed to address them. The report has been prepared by a team of researchers at The King's Fund and Imperial College London. It is a companion piece to a framework that NHS London will be co-creating with practices across the capital as a resource for clinical commissioning groups in taking on their new responsibilities for continuously improving primary care services.

The King's Fund and Imperial College London are also providing clinical commissioning groups with more detailed data on the indicators used in this report, along with guidance on how to interpret and use the data, as a starting point from which to understand priorities at local level.
