Durka is a senior consultant and programme director in the leadership and organisational development team at The King’s Fund, and a medical consultant in public health medicine. Durka leads many population health, systems transformation and clinical leadership initiatives across the UK. She uses positive approaches to foster strong, joined-up systems at individual, organisational, regional and national levels.
Before joining the Fund, Durka worked for the NHS as Head of Population Health and Transformation supporting 13 health and care organisations to improve the health of 600,000 people across 2 London boroughs. Previously she worked for Health Education England as a public health specialist, and was a senior fellow in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at King’s College Hospital, and a senior NHS commissioning manager in London.
Durka holds specialist qualifications in health care leadership, public health and clinical medicine, and is a professor of public health and population health part-time across two universities supporting workforce development and improved practice.
