Preety Das
GP TraineePreety has left the Fund.
Preety is a GP Registrar who joined the Fund as part of an innovative training post at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She is interested in the interface between service provision and commissioning, particularly the fields of mental health, maternal and child health, and patient experience. Her current projects include the integration of mental and physical health care services, and the evolution of clinical commissioning groups.
Before this post, Preety completed a Masters in Public Health at Harvard University, where she focused on maternal and child health care policy and community-based research. During her degree, she was awarded a stipend to evaluate long-term outcomes for ‘Early Head Start’, a federally funded community-based programme for underserved families with young children. She has also conducted quality improvement research in Boston Children’s Hospital, leading to multiple publications.
Preety completed her junior doctor training in London, during which she received deanery prizes for leadership and peer representation. She undertook her medical training at the University of Cambridge, where she ran the first student organisation for patient safety, encouraging peer-led quality improvement projects and multidisciplinary teaching.
