Annie Whelan
Former CEO, SeaviewAnnie Whelan was the CEO of Seaview until September 2019. Seaview is a mental health and homeless charity on the south coast providing an open access wellbeing centre and rough sleeper outreach. She has also been one of the independent members of the National Information Board since its inception in 2014.
Annie spent 20 years living in the USA, where she worked with a street homeless service in Detroit. She was the Director for a crisis women’s service, and supported the development and opening of service-user run enterprises in two counties in central Ohio.
After returning to England, Annie managed mental health advocacy services in a variety of settings; community, inpatient, forensic and prison. As Development Lead for the Association of Mental Health Providers for several years, Annie led on their work with the Department of Health Strategic Partners Programme.
In 2018, Seaview was one of eight winners of a GSK IMPACT Award. The awards are funded by GSK and run in partnership with The King’s Fund.
