The Health and Social Care Bill report and third reading: Briefing

Throughout the debate on the Health and Social Care Bill, The King's Fund has argued that the real choice is not between stability and change, but between reforms that are well designed and deliver benefits to patients and those that are poorly planned and undermine NHS performance.

Despite recent amendments to the Bill, following the recommendations from the NHS Future Forum, we are still concerned that the scale of the structural changes set out in the Bill and the challenges associated with implementing them present risks that could damage NHS performance and harm patient care.
