We are looking to develop ways for integrated care systems to listen to and work with patients and users. Completed project Frontline clinical care in acute hospitals Our research looks at pressures on frontline clinical care in acute hospitals. Completed project Carter review on productivity in NHS hospitals A selection of our work on topics related to the Carter review of efficiency in NHS hospitals: value, productivity and variations in health care. Completed project A toolkit for collaborative working developed with Future-Focused Finance The King's Fund was commissioned by Future-Focused Finance to develop a toolkit designed to help finance and clinical staff think about how well they work together and find ways to improve collaboration. Completed project Pressures in general practice This project aims to increase our understanding of the workload in general practice and why GPs report feeling under so much pressure, and to make recommendations about what might be done. Active project Quarterly monitoring report (QMR) How is the NHS performing? Our quarterly monitoring reports provide a regular update on how the NHS in England is performing. We examine the views of finance directors on the productivity challenge they face, as well as key NHS performance data. Completed project Experience-based co-design toolkit This toolkit outlines a powerful and effective way of improving patients' experience of services. Completed project Vision for volunteering in health This project looked at the role, size, scope and value of volunteering in the health and social care sector, and at how the health reforms will impact on volunteering. Completed project Reducing acute care bed utilisation Analysing how acute care beds are being used in the NHS in England, and considering the pressure placed on availability by the NHS reforms. Completed project Environmental sustainability in health and social care We worked with the NHS Sustainable Development Unit to establish what evidence is needed to support health and social care services to become more environmentally sustainable. Completed project Clinicians' use of cost and quality information: the role of service-line management This project looks at how clinicians, working alongside general management and finance colleagues, use data on cost and quality to help them to manage their services. Our Quality in a Cold Climate project aimed to support the NHS in delivering productivity improvements required to meet this challenge.
