Against this background we have been undertaking work to explore the relationship between the public and our national health service. Completed project The impact of NHS financial pressures on patient care This project explores whether the unprecedented slowdown in NHS funding growth since 2010 has affected patients' access to high-quality care, and whether financial pressures are felt differently in different parts of the health system. Completed project The NHS five year forward view The NHS five year forward view set out a positive vision for the future based around seven new models of care. Here we highlight our research, analysis, events and other content relevant to the main themes in the report. Completed project The evolving NHS The NHS is evolving. Following the publication of the NHS five year forward view, a number of vanguard sites are developing new models of care in which commissioners and providers are working together in different ways to achieve closer integration of services. This change is happening quickly and has significant implications for the health and care system. Completed project Mental health in the vanguards The King's Fund is working in partnership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists to understand the extent to which opportunities for mental and physical health integration are being realised in the vanguard sites. Active project Supporting new NHS care models The King's Fund is working with NHS and care organisations to support the development of the new care models set out in the NHS five year forward view. Completed project Older people’s experiences of district nursing services This project was done to improve our understanding of quality in district nursing services by learning from the experiences of older people receiving care, their informal carers and district nursing staff. Completed project The Francis Inquiry report Robert Francis' report into the failings at the Mid Staffordshire Foundation Trust was published in February 2013. Since then, issues of patient safety, quality of care and a culture of collective leadership have been in the public eye more than ever.
