This project will examine how and why the Deal was developed, how it has been put into practice, and what others might learn from it. Following the publication of the NHS five year forward view, a number of vanguard sites are developing new models of care in which commissioners and providers are working together in different ways to achieve closer integration of services. This change is happening quickly and has significant implications for the health and care system.
