With the NHS under huge financial pressure, questions are being raised about the sustainability of its funding model. Here we pull together a range of content around the NHS funding debate. Completed project The impact of NHS financial pressures on patient care This project explores whether the unprecedented slowdown in NHS funding growth since 2010 has affected patients' access to high-quality care, and whether financial pressures are felt differently in different parts of the health system. It was the current government's first major economic statement and has set the financial context in which the health and social care system will operate going forward. Completed project The NHS after the Health and Social Care Act The Health and Social Care Act 2012 created the most wide-ranging reforms to the NHS, since it was founded in 1948. We look at six key aspects of the new NHS after the Act came into force. Active project Quarterly monitoring report (QMR) How is the NHS performing? Our quarterly monitoring reports provide a regular update on how the NHS in England is performing. We examine the views of finance directors on the productivity challenge they face, as well as key NHS performance data.
