Active project How should the NHS be funded? With the NHS under huge financial pressure, questions are being raised about the sustainability of its funding model. Here we pull together a range of content around the NHS funding debate. Completed project The impact of NHS financial pressures on patient care This project explores whether the unprecedented slowdown in NHS funding growth since 2010 has affected patients' access to high-quality care, and whether financial pressures are felt differently in different parts of the health system. Completed project Spring Budget 2017 A collection of work on NHS and social care funding and finances of particular relevance to the Spring Budget 2017. Completed project Is the NHS in crisis? The NHS is struggling to cope with record demand and social care services are stretched to the limit. We look at the pressures on services and what needs to be done to put the system on a sustainable footing for the future. Active project Quality improvement in mental health care Our project focuses on clinical and non-clinical leaders in NHS mental health care trusts to understand how they can help build a culture of quality improvement within their organisations. Completed project Autumn Statement 2016 The Autumn Statement was announced on 23 November 2016. It was the current government's first major economic statement and has set the financial context in which the health and social care system will operate going forward. Completed project Mental health in the vanguards The King's Fund is working in partnership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists to understand the extent to which opportunities for mental and physical health integration are being realised in the vanguard sites. Active project Quarterly monitoring report (QMR) How is the NHS performing? Our quarterly monitoring reports provide a regular update on how the NHS in England is performing. We examine the views of finance directors on the productivity challenge they face, as well as key NHS performance data. Completed project A Transformation Fund to sustain the future of the NHS The King's Fund and The Health Foundation have called for transformation funds to finance and drive forward essential changes to services. Completed project Environmental sustainability in health and social care We worked with the NHS Sustainable Development Unit to establish what evidence is needed to support health and social care services to become more environmentally sustainable. Our Quality in a Cold Climate project aimed to support the NHS in delivering productivity improvements required to meet this challenge.
