2020 GSK IMPACT Award winners

Part of GSK IMPACT Awards

Our congratulations go to the 10 charities that have won 2020 GSK IMPACT Awards for their outstanding contributions to improving the UK’s health and wellbeing. We are delighted to announce there are two joint overall GSK IMPACT Award winners this year Maundy Relief and Playlist for Life.

The following organisations will receive a £30,000 donation, two places on a free training and development programme plus an invitation to join the GSK IMPACT Awards Development Network with its programme of free meetings and events.

 

Overall winners

The overall winners of the 2020 GSK IMPACT Awards are:  

  • Maundy Relief Trust - tackles poverty and helps people in real need in Accrington. 
  • Playlist for Life - uses music to help improve the lives of people with dementia and their families across the UK.

The two overall winners each receive an additional £10,000 in funding.

The winners

The eight winners of the 2020 GSK IMPACT Awards are:  

  • Auditory Verbal UK - helps deaf children learn to listen and talk so they can get an equal start at school.
  • Empire Fighting Chance - a Bristol-based charity, working to transform young lives through non-contact boxing.
  • Headway East London - supports brain injury survivors, their families and carers.
  • New Pathways - helps people who have experienced rape or sexual abuse across South, West and Mid Wales. 
  • Shantona Women’s and Family Centre - empowers women and strengthens families in diverse communities in Leeds.   
  • Trevi House - a Plymouth-based charity, helping mothers to recover from addiction without separating them from their children.
  • Vision Care for Homeless People - provides eye tests and glasses to homeless people.
  • Yellow Door - improves the lives of people affected by domestic or sexual abuse across Hampshire.
