Garden on the Orchard Hill site, a long-stay hospital that provides a home to more than 100 adults with learning and physical disabilities

Aims and outcomes

The aim of the project was to develop a multi-functional sensory garden that would be accessible to all 104 residents on the site as well as to residents in the trust’s homes in Sutton and Merton. The garden would be linked to the occupational therapy centre.

The project team used existing trees as the basis of a 'trim trail' for use by the residents and also moved a log cabin from another part of the hospital grounds to the new garden.
