Our leadership development team

We have a talented, experienced and diverse team of leadership development experts who are specialists at what they do and have an international reputation for their work. Many of our team have worked in the NHS, often in clinical roles.

We can draw on a range of experience from international, public, private and not-for-profit sectors as well as world-renowned leadership academics from the UK and some of the world’s most prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School. We are also able to call on a wider pool of associates, connections and partnerships to supplement our team.

Marcus Powell, Director, Leadership and Organisational Development

Marcus Powell

Before joining the Fund in 2016, Marcus spent seven years as Group Human Resources/Organisational Development Director for Nuffield Health, where he led work on business integration through organisational development interventions that created a quality environment with value-led leadership at its core. Michael West

Michael West

Hugh joined The King's Fund in 2014 as Senior Policy Assistant to Chris Ham and Programme Manager for our integrated care work. Before he joined the Fund, Hugh worked as a consultant within PricewaterhouseCooper's health team and was seconded to work on Sir John Oldham's independent commission on whole-person care. Mandip has worked as a policy adviser in the Department of Energy and Climate change and worked on setting up a new government organisation, managing briefing requests and stakeholder engagement. David Oliver
Professor David Oliver is seconded to The King's Fund from the NHS for one day a week as a visiting fellow, alongside his clinical job as a consultant in geriatrics and acute general medicine at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
