This online event explores the interface between housing and mental health services and shares some of the opportunities to improve care for people with mental health problems.

During the session you'll hear from Claire Murdoch, National Mental Health Director at NHS England, on how closer working between the two services can deliver the aims set out in the Five year forward view for mental health.

Following Claire's presentation, Rachael Byrne, Executive Director, New Models of Care at Home Group shares examples of recent initiatives between housing and mental health services that are starting to deliver improvements in people’s mental health and wellbeing.

About the speakers

Claire Murdoch, national mental health director for NHS England, is a registered mental health nurse for 34 years, and joined NHS England in April 2016. She is also chief executive of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. With a wealth of clinical and leadership experience she is leading delivering the national mental health programme for NHS England.

Rachael Byrne joined Home Group in 2009 as Executive Director of Care and Support. She has worked in the sector for 30 years and brings a wealth of experience in expertise in developing services that ensure the 35k vulnerable customers Home supports every year are supported and housed for the long term.
