Integrated care: What does the future hold?

Integrated care systems (formerly known as accountable care systems) have emerged in ten areas of England, and more look set to follow. At the same time, a controversial national contract for accountable care organisations (ACOs) has been proposed, and subsequently delayed pending further consultation. This breakfast debate aimed to clarify what these changes mean for the future of the NHS, and to explore whether legislative changes are really needed to make a reality of integrated care.
