Dr Phillip Lee MP joined us at our Conservative Party Conference fringe event in Birmingham.

The next government will have a small window of opportunity after the general election to confront the challenges facing the health and care system, so what changes are needed? The King's Fund, the NHS Confederation and the Local Government Association hosted a lively and thought-provoking debate about the solutions needed to meet the challenges ahead.

The panellists were:

  • Dr Phillip Lee, Conservative MP for Bracknell
  • Mary Riddell, The Daily Telegraph (chair)
  • Chris Ham, Chief Executive, The King's Fund
  • Rob Webster, Chief Executive, NHS Confederation
  • Councillor Colin Noble, Community Wellbeing Board, Local Government Association
