This question came out of a discussion during our emerging clinical leaders programme and here are the responses we received.

July 2014 discussion

To coincide with the launch of our exciting new Emerging clinical leaders programme, we used social media to explore the issues and challenges facing emerging leaders.

We posed a series of questions and Vine videos on Twitter to promote discussion and debate. The questions covered the best advice you were given early in your career and also the qualities needed by future leaders.

Being sure what you want to achieve and knowing your subject/field. .
Listening to understand not just to answer. Respect for the views of others even if you don't agree. Confidence not arrogance.
