In his first major speech since the Conservative general election victory, David Cameron renewed his vow to boost NHS funding and create a seven-day service. Chris Ham spoke to the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme, saying that a seven-day NHS is ‘absolutely the right thing to do’, but that there is ‘a price-tag attached’. He also highlighted the workforce issues involved, with some hospitals struggling to recruit enough senior medical staff.
