Paul Zollinger-Read plays a major part in developing our work around clinical commissioning and provision, allowing us to continue to build and share knowledge and to support the health service in these areas.
Paul started his career as a GP in Braintree in 1991. He spent some of his career working with the NHS Modernisation Agency and, in 2002, set up and became CEO of one of the first care trusts in the country,
He went on to run the neighbouring primary care trust in Chelmsford and, following the reorganisation in 2006, was asked to run NHS North East Essex. At the beginning of 2009 Paul was asked to run NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney PCT.
Paul became the Chief Executive of NHS Cambridgeshire in January 2010 and subsequently Chief Executive of NHS Peterborough in July 2010. He was also asked to lead the development of GP consortia in the East of England. He is also responsible for some areas of national work such as the development of authorisation for consortia and the Pathfinder Learning Network.
Paul is a clinician with extensive leadership experience at national, regional and local levels. His leadership style is passionate and innovative borne out of his clinical background.
