Matthew worked at The King's Fund as part of the NHS Management Training Scheme. His main interests include international health systems, diversity within the workforce, and patient engagement.
Matthew spent his first year on the scheme at St George's Healthcare NHS Trust, where he supported the operational management of adult critical care services. As part of this role, he contributed to a service redesign project, the directorate's cost improvement programme, junior medical staff allocation and work patterns, and risk management.
Having gained a degree in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge, Matthew has worked at an executive search firm which specialised in board-level appointments within health and higher education. He also spent time at the BBC as a researcher on television documentaries.
