Mark Redhead is Head of Strategy and Planning at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Mark has worked in health for 20 years. In the first ten years, he was representing academic medicine at the BMA; promoting teaching and research remains very important to him. He went on to be head of policy at what is now NHS Providers, representing trusts in the 2013 health reforms and working on development programmes for boards and foundation trust governors. This development focus continued at Monitor, where he led work on clinical engagement, service line management and system resilience. In his current role, he is particularly keen to advance the population health agenda. His career is characterised by sense-making and giving people the tools to do the job, which provoked his recent interest in coaching for individuals and teams.
For the past three years Mark has chaired Ehlers-Danlos Support UK – a patient charity for a hereditary connective tissue disorder.
