Liz Thiebe

Head of Programmes, Leadership Development

Liz Thiebe joined The King's Fund in March 2008 after leading the Productive Series at the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement. This work included leading the national programme to improve patient experience, patient safety and the efficiencies of wards, theatres and community hospitals.

She was recently the Director of Service Design at University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, where she directed the service delivery redesign for one of England's largest NHS trusts.

She is the former Health System Director of Surgery and Anaesthesia at a large health system in Massachusetts, where she had management responsibilities across the health system for the strategic planning, programme development and operations of the surgery and anaesthesia product line. Liz led the design process for new models of care and the care delivery systems, and then operationalised the new care models in a new build.

Liz holds a Bachelors degree in nursing and a Masters degree in business administration. A frequent lecturer, she also acts as a planning consultant for surgery, anaesthesia, endoscopy, and capital planning programmes in the US and the UK.
