Elizabeth is a former nurse who currently works as a freelance consultant within the NHS.
As the founder of the Dining Companions programme at Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust, Elizabeth is an agent for change with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. She has been closely involved with the programme to improve in-patient nutrition at her local hospital and is currently working with BAPEN to highlight the impact of good nutrition on patient outcomes.
As a guest speaker at The King’s Fund, Elizabeth has spoken about collaborative leadership, with reference to the challenges which often undermine successful collaborative working. She is a strong advocate of simplifying processes wherever possible in order to achieve patient-centred care and encourages those she works with to take a different perspective in order to understand issues and find solutions.
