David worked in the NHS for 34 years and has a passion for developing people and teams to deliver excellent health care.
Trained as a Podiatrist, David developed a specialist role in diabetes and patient education. He has spoken widely and been a clinical advisor to the Department of Health, most recently on the Diabetes Workforce Executive.
David has experience of working for the Department of Health and of working across social care, third sector agencies and the private sector.
As an Associate Director with a large community organisation, David managed a wide range of services including primary care, mental health, community nursing and therapy services. He has acted as project director for major capital schemes, led large transformation projects and acted as the clinical director for non-medical or nursing services.
David’s main interests lie in developing professional leaders to lead change and investigating different approaches to patient care.
