Zoë Abrams

Director of Communications and Engagement Communications

Zoë leads the development of the organisation’s strategic positioning and drive its relevance with key audiences – from government through to the public. Her remit includes marketing communications, media relations and public affairs, and her brief is to maximise the external presence of The King’s Fund by building on the organisation’s reputation and influence in health and care policy, leadership and organisational development.

Before joining The King’s Fund, Zoë worked as a strategy and communications consultant to organisations in the charity and government sectors. Prior to setting up her own consultancy, Zoë was the Executive Director of Strategy, Advocacy and Communications at the British Red Cross for seven years, and before that she was Director of Marketing Communications at Barnardo’s, the UK’s largest children’s charity.

Zoë spent a decade in Whitehall in the ’00s, working in four government departments as well as in parliament. Highlights of her civil service career include overseeing the Ministry of Justice’s first integrated on and offline marketing campaign, and working at the Foreign Office, helping to lead the implementation of the government’s EU communication strategy.
