About this role

Working across our Press and Public Affairs and Marketing and Corporate Communications teams, you will play an important role in supporting our communications work, including managing media inquiries, monitoring the external environment, maintaining our database and co-ordinating our presence at King’s Fund conferences. This is an exciting opportunity for you to build your experience of health policy communications.

You will be enthusiastic and proactive, with attention to detail and a logical, planned approach to work. You will also have a good understanding of the media, the UK political system, marketing and digital communications, as well as experience of working with databases.

We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

Terms and conditions

Salary grade

The grading of each post is determined by a job evaluation system. Each of the eight main grades has a salary range comprising a series of incremental spine points. On appointment staff are assigned to one of these spine points, taking account of previous experience.

Salary review

On 1st January each year an adjustment is applied to all salary spine points to reflect changes in the cost of living.

Employees move on 1st January each year to the next spine point on their grade, unless: a) they have been the subject of a disciplinary warning; b) they are already on the maximum spine point of their grade; or c) they took up their post on or after the preceding 1st October.

Salary payment

Salary is paid on 23rd of each month or the previous Friday if the 23rd falls at the weekend /bank holiday.

27 days per year, plus 3 days off for the closure of the premises between Christmas and New Year.
