Who we are

Who's who

Read biographies of our policy, research and leadership experts, our board of trustees and our senior associates.

How we are funded

The funding for our work comes from three main sources: income from 'generated' funds, income from charitable activities and income from our endowment.

How we are governed

The King’s Fund is incorporated by a Royal Charter that was granted by Her Majesty the Queen in 2008 and which came into being on 1 January 2009.

Our history

The King's Fund first came into being in 1897 as the Prince of Wales Hospital Fund for London, a foundation endowed by a royal patron.

Partnerships and fundraising

Although around half of the money we spend each year is derived from our assets, we believe that we have to at least match that with income we generate ourselves if we are to have the impact required.
