Summary
The Government has made major efforts to reduce inpatient waiting times to under six months. But while some trusts have been successful at meeting – and even exceeding targets, others have not. This interim report identifies the characteristics of the successful trusts that may be transferable to less successful ones, and details the research methods, findings and ideas for the final report. The research was funded by the Department of Health and carried out collaboratively by researchers at The King's Fund and at City, Oxford and Birmingham universities, and the London School of Economics.
