David Woodhead, Karen Jochelson, Ruth Tennant

Summary

Public health is one of the government's key priorities. This research summary looks at how London's primary care trusts can work towards remodelling the public health delivery system in a time of change. Drawing on interviews with stakeholders both in the capital and nationally, it analyses the public health issues faced by strategists, managers and practitioners, and offers recommendations to support local public health development. In particular, it emphasises the need to embrace the complexity within public health practice and to work in partnership.
