In 2000, the King’s Fund launched the Enhancing the Healing Environment (EHE) programme, aiming to encourage and enable nurse-led teams in London to improve the hospital environment. The EHE programme was then rolled out to trusts across England. This report by York Health Economics Consortium for the Department of Health (NHS Estates) evaluates the second England-wide phase of the programme, focusing on 9 of the total of 23 EHE projects involved.
