There is an increasing emphasis on the need for evidence-based practice. But turning evidence into everyday clinical practice can be challenging. This publication describes the work of 16 projects around the United Kingdom in which NHS staff attempted to apply evidence to their practice. Drawing on findings from a mid-term review of the King’s Fund’s Promoting Action on Clinical Effectiveness (PACE) programme, it explores their approach to process and evaluation, and looks at the challenges they faced.
