Summary
London has the highest rate of violent crime in the country. Drawing on interviews with stakeholders from local authorities, health authorities, the voluntary sector, the police, probation service, and other associated organisations, this paper looks at the relationships between community safety and health and the role of health services in improving community safety. It suggests ways to improve the engagement of the health economy in efforts to improve community safety, using examples of good practice.
