The benefits of centralised emergency services are less than clear

Small hospitals are having increasing difficulties and the definition of what constitutes small seems to have become more inclusive. There is some folk wisdom that it is now impossible to become a foundation trust if turnover is below a certain level. Like much of what is asserted in this area it proves impossible to find the source of this view or very much evidence.
