Day three: Christmas versus health care spending

Yesterday was ‘cyber Monday’ the busiest day of the year for online shopping with an expected spend of £312,550 every minute. This year households are set to spend £38 billion in shops and online in December, a figure very close to the £40.2 billion that is spent on acute services in a year.
