Aims and outcomes
The project focused on a rarely used courtyard located next to the regional burns and plastics unit and orthopaedic wards. The team wanted to redesign the courtyard, using artworks and landscaping, to provide a tranquil place for patients, visitors and staff.
A commissioned glass sculpture and stained glass artwork were installed to reflect the industrial and glass heritage of the local area. The design of the courtyard enables it to host small musical events during summer months.
