Oxleas NHS Trust
Location
Area between the reception and living room at Banbury House, a closed rehabilitation unit for 10 men with challenging behaviour
Aims and outcomes
The project team wanted to provide a homely environment for residents and visitors at Banbury House. They also wanted to create a more dignified setting for staff, to help address recruitment and retention issues.
The layout of the area was reorganised by relocating the smoking room, placing a commissioned glass screen between the living and dining areas, and installing new furniture throughout the area. The addition of a conservatory helps unite the living and dining area with the garden outside the unit.
