Waiting area in the accident and emergency department at Moorfields Eye Hospital

Aims and outcomes

The aims of the project were to create a good first impression of the hospital trust by improving the waiting environment for accident and emergency patients, creating a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, and softening the clinical feel of the environment.

The trust's 'peacock' theme provided the inspiration for commissioned artworks in the main waiting area, which now has a special space for children to play.
