Aims and outcomes
The canteen at St Peter's Hospital was in poor condition, but the project team saw that the space had the potential to be a vibrant cafeteria, where patients could spend time away from ward environments.
New tables and chairs were installed, and artists worked with patients and staff to create unique table-top designs based upon reminiscences of Maldon, as well as mosaics and other artworks. A new menu featuring fresh organic food and other healthy options was also developed. 'Le Caf' now provides a valuable space for social activities, including performances of music and drama.
