Aims and outcomes

A lack of space in the endoscopy department meant that patients weren't able to have much privacy. The waiting area looked directly into the patients' recovery area and patients had to walk through the waiting area to access the toilet.

The project team sought to tackle these problems by creating an atmosphere of greater space, privacy and dignity for patients in the endoscopy unit. Colour, light and works of art were used to create a calm and coherent environment for patients, staff and visitors.
