Andrew Willis

Andrew’s specialist knowledge is in the area of corporate governance compliance and systems. A solicitor by profession, he has worked for City and regional law firms in corporate departments and has several years' experience of training lawyers in corporate law. Andrew is a Leadership Associate of the Kings Fund specialising in skills and behaviors that lead to effective board decision-making. He also carries out development work with the Foundation Trust Governors Association around ensuring board accountability to stakeholders.

Andrew has over 10 years' board experience in the acute health and housing sectors. Recently appointed to the board of a large foundation trust  (FT) in the South West he has previously served as the vice chairman (and chair of audit) of a medium sized FT (both positions he held during a foundation trust application). Prior to that his board experience included service as a non-executive director on a major teaching hospital board in the South East and with a large housing group in London.

Andrew is currently pursuing doctoral research at the London School of Economics into the role of managerial and clinical incentives in driving NHS productivity. He holds a bachelors, and masters, degree in economics from Manchester University and the LSE respectively.
