Anne Rainsberry will discuss Workforce for London, the NHS London workforce strategy, due to be launched on 16 September 2008 and the first strategy for the London workforce. The three key themes of the strategy will centre around enabling the service vision set out in Healthcare for London by:
- developing a workforce with the skills to deliver high-quality care, meeting the changing needs of Londoners
- building leaders and leadership skills in all health care professionals
- enabling the workforce to deliver high-quality patient care.
These themes will be discussed in more detail along with an overview of NHS London's plan for implementing the strategy across London.

Anne Rainsberry has worked in health for over twenty years, both in general management and human resources roles.
She first became an HR Director in the NHS in 1995, holding a number of board level positions in London. Anne joined the Department of Health in 2001, working firstly as Director of Workforce Development in the South East Regional Office and latterly the DHSC, with responsibility for leading the delivery of workforce modernisation in the NHS and Social Care. In 2004, she was appointed as Director of Human Resources for the Department of Health.
In December 2006 Anne was appointed as Director of People and Organisation Development at NHS London. Anne is a member of the SHA Board and is specifically responsible for the development of London-wide workforce strategy, leadership and organisation development and education commissioning.
Anne has a Masters degree in Strategic HR and a DBA which focused on culture and culture change in the NHS. She is a regular public speaker on strategic HR and change, and is a member of Member of the NHS Employers Policy Board and the National Social Partnership Forum.
