Stephen Webb

Stephen Webb has more than 15 years’ experience in media relations and communications in complex government and public sector roles.

Stephen joined NHS London as Communications Director in April 2008 and has played a lead role in building the capacity and capability of NHS communications in London. His responsibilities were expanded in April 2009 to include innovation, in order to develop, promote and spread best practice in care, services and patient experience.

He was previously Director of Group Communications for Transport for London (TfL), with responsibility for a broad range of key strategic communications work, including government and stakeholder relations and internal communications. Stephen joined TfL in 2001 after working in media relations for a number of government departments.

He was deputy head of the TfL media team that won the 2006 CIPR award for Crisis Communications following the July 2005 London bombings and has lectured in the UK and abroad on crisis communications.
