Could you be our new Content Executive? Help bring our strategy and brand to life through powerful, people-centred storytelling that influences health and care policy and practice.
Our work and values
We work across a range of disciplines, including research and policy analysis, leadership and organisational development, communications and information services, ICT, finance, and facilities management.
Our values underpin all that we do:
People first
Challenge the status quo
Always objective
Be courageous
Create impact together.
Benefits
We actively support the development of our people and are committed to being a learning organisation, supporting staff to learn and develop both within the Fund and outside of it.
Salaries are competitively pitched for the charity sector and we're proud to be a Living Wage Employer. This is enhanced by an occupational pension scheme and generous holiday entitlements. The Green House café is a popular place to meet colleagues, and staff benefit from a daily discount of £3 on the wide range of food and refreshments on offer.
As a health charity, health and wellbeing is important to us – we provide an occupational health service that offers free flu jabs and well-person screening, on-site gym facilities, a confidential counselling service and a range of policies which support flexible working. We’re also a friendly bunch, holding frequent social events throughout the year.
Our location in the heart of London’s West End is another perk – we are minutes away from Oxford Circus tube station and enjoy easy access to shops, parks, theatres and restaurants.
What our colleagues say
'I know from friends in the NHS that our reports can have a real impact, both for leaders and on the front line – for me that’s one of the most important things about working here. Also, the friendliness of an organisation that’s small and sociable enough to know everyone.'
Alex Baylis, Assistant Director of Policy
'I had the opportunity to work with The King’s Fund in a previous role and I thought, I’d love to work there! We all have a role to play to increase the Fund’s impact and reach. For me, convening prominent leaders by providing a platform to debate current and future challenges is a key to learning from and providing connection between those working across the health and care system. Also, stepping back to celebrate with the team at the end of a busy event day is incredibly rewarding!'
Rebecca Gorringe, Partnerships Manager
'What I really enjoy about working at The King’s Fund is being able to see our research and analysis prompt discussion and debate, and hopefully lead to tangible changes in health and social care.'
'I feel really proud when I see our work cited in the media and by policymakers, or hear about the positive impact our research has had on the health and care system and people who work in it. I enjoy the breadth of work and subjects we cover too – social care, integrated care systems, general practice, culture and leadership, workforce, NHS performance to name but a small number! The working environment is friendly and collaborative – people share their time and knowledge generously, and I am always learning something new.'
Gemma Umali, Assistant Director, External Affairs
'The King’s Fund is a brilliant place to work. The power of our brand and communications team means the messages from our analyses get to the people who need to hear them. That’s a fantastic thing for a researcher who wants to make an impact with their work. But the best thing about working at The Fund is the range of outstanding colleagues you get to work with and learn from. And our building is beautiful and history filled, and located in the centre of London.'
Internships and work placements
We receive a high volume of requests for short-term placements or internships at The King's Fund and we're unable to meet these direct requests. We currently only offer placements to people from our formal partnerships with external training schemes such as the Health Data Research UK Black Internship programme, the NHS Management Trainee Scheme and the Imperial VTS GP training scheme.
