About this event

The prospects for innovation in health care delivery

Service innovation has been identified as an essential element of the NHS' response to the future needs of an aging baby-boomer generation. This usually comprises some combination of alternative sites of care or caregivers and new care processes, often enabled by new information or clinical technologies. Of these, workforce redesign, including redesign of the patient’s role, has attracted most attention as labour is such a large component of the overall costs of care. Experience suggests, however, that new models of care often deliver less than they promise.

This seminar will describe the various approaches to service innovation and workforce redesign and discuss their promise, pitfalls and lasting lessons.

Certificates of attendance will be made available to all delegates.
